  • Vatican City, Italy

Situated in the middle of Rome is the smallest official country in the world, Vatican City. Covering a mere 0.44 square kilometers  whilst Vatican City may be known to many because of its size, being home to the Pope and center of the Catholic religion, it is the buildings that are encompassed within the country that are the reason for its inclusion within this list.

The Sistine Chapel, St Peter’s Basilica and St Peter’s Square will all take your breath away themselves, without taking into consideration the amount of famous artwork that is on display within them.

  • SURTSEY (Iceland): The emerging island

Off the coast of Iceland on the morning of 14 November 1963, the crew of a lone fishing trawler spotted an alarming sight. Off to the southwest of the Ísleifur II, a column of dark smoke was rising from the water.

Concerned that it could be another boat on fire, the captain directed his vessel towards the scene. Once there, however, they found not a boat but a series of violent explosions producing ash. This was an unmistakable indication of a volcanic eruption taking place underwater, close to the surface.

Very aware of the potential danger but eager to watch, the crew kept their boat nearby. It was indeed a remarkable event that they would witness a small part of over the course of that morning: the formation of a brand-new island.

  • A lizard man

An extra bizarre man from India. He is Navratan Harsh; this youth from India was called as the real lizard boy. uurgh it’s really revolting when i see a lizard on his face. How can Navratan stand out of those revolting lizard??

Navrathan has been enthralled by lizards, ever since he was a young boy & one fell in his lap, at school. Ever since then, he has exhausted most of his days feeding and playing with his peeling friends, and even letting them creep on his face.

Around his town, Navratan Harsh is known as Gecko King & Mowgli, because of his close link with wildlife. Unlike other boys his age, who spend most of their time celebrations and getting drunk, Navratan look for for lizards, plays and trains them, and them lets them go free.

He says he sense no pain or fear when lizards bite his face…sinister stuff!

  • Golden Gate Bridge

The Golden Gate Bridge is a suspension bridge spanning the Golden Gate, the opening of the San Francisco Bay into the Pacific Ocean.

The structure links the city of San Francisco, on the northern tip of the San Francisco Peninsula, to Marin County. It is one of the most internationally recognized symbols of San Francisco, California, and of the United States. It has been declared one of the modern Wonders of the World by the American Society of Civil Engineers. The Frommers travel guide considers the Golden Gate Bridge "possibly the most beautiful, certainly the most photographed, bridge in the world".

  • Dubai Roller Coaster

Dubai Roller Coaster - the world's fastest roller coaster is at Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi.

It does 0-60mph in less than two seconds, uses the type of hydraulic winch that flings jets off aircraft carriers and races round the track at 150mph.

The bright red roller coaster, located right next to the Abu Dhabi F1 circuit, takes passengers on a high-speed ride that lasts less than two minutes, rising to 170ft and taking in dips, curves and turns which arc just 5ft above the ground.

Entry to Ferrari World costs £37 and there are also children's attractions, shows and other heart-stopping rides like G-Force, the tower of speed which propels riders more than 200ft into the air before plunging back down.

  • The Mexican axolotl

The Mexican axolotl (pronounced ACK-suh-LAH-tuhl) salamander has the rare trait of retaining its larval features throughout its adult life. This condition, called neoteny, means it keeps its tadpole-like dorsal fin, which runs almost the length of its body, and its feathery external gills, which protrude from the back of its wide head.
